Why We Don’t Put Our Puppies on the Ground Too Soon

You might notice that, at God’s Little Aussies, you won’t see our puppies posed on the lawn at 4 or 5 weeks old. You won’t find them romping through the grass in a cute little line for early photo ops. And that’s not because we don’t want to. It’s because we’ve seen the heartbreak of parvo and will not gamble with lives that trust us to protect them.
We follow a strict protocol for one reason only: we love them too much not to. Until our puppies have completed their full vaccine series (with a buffer period), we keep them off the ground, away from risk, and in environments we can fully control and sanitize.
We know some breeders take the chance for pretty photo sessions to sell puppies. But here, we choose not to ~ because what’s a few weeks of cautious care compared to the lifetime of porch naps, muddy paws, and belly rubs that lie ahead?
Every puppy here is raised like it’s staying with us forever — because, in our hearts, they already have.
We also send each family home with guidance on parvo awareness, safety precautions, and potty routines to use until their puppy is fully vaccinated. Our goal is to support you every step of the way. Please don’t hesitate to call or text us with any questions about our protocols — we’re always happy to help.
