Miniature Australian Shepherds do shed, especially seasonally. They have a double coat designed to protect them from weather, and it naturally sheds throughout the year. Daily brushing helps keep loose hair off furniture and keeps their coat healthy.
Aussiedoodles shed less because of their Poodle genetics — but low-shedding does not mean zero shedding. Most Aussiedoodles lose some hair, especially during coat changes, but far less than a typical double-coated breed.
✅ Our program’s approach:
We raise both Mini Aussies and Aussiedoodles, and each puppy’s coat comes from a thoughtful pairing of temperament, structure, and health first. Shedding varies puppy to puppy, but we always help families choose the right fit — whether you prefer a fluffier, low-shedding doodle or a classic, soft double-coated Aussie.
