When Plans Change With Grace: Thank You for Protecting our Puppy’s Future

There are moments in this work where a family hesitates, a deposit is reconsidered,
or someone realizes now is not the right time.  Those aren’t inconveniences — they are acts of protection.

✔️We hold a perspective that:

●When someone tells us they are not ready,
they are, perhaps unknowingly, safeguarding our puppy’s future — and we are thankful for them.

✔️Honesty is a Blessing — Not an Offense

●Life shifts.
●Finances change.
●Timing evolves.
●Hearts get unsettled.
●Circumstances tighten.

When a responsible family makes that pause, it doesn’t frustrate us — it reassures us. Because it tells us:

🤎 You care enough to say “not yet.”
🤎 You want what’s right for the puppy.
🤎 You value the commitment more than the moment.

That is the kind of integrity we appreciate,
not complain about.

✔️We Choose Gratitude Over Grievance

Some speak publicly about disappointment. Some go to social media to ●shame ●vent, or ●dramatize for confirmation, support and views.

We don’t. Why?

Because a family who steps back didn’t harm the puppy — they protected them.

A “no” or “not now” is not:

❌ disrespect
❌ inconvenience
❌ dishonesty

It is:

✔ discernment
✔ responsibility
✔ future-focused love

We would rather a family recognize hesitancy before a puppy goes home
than quietly regret it afterward.

That is wisdom — and we honor it.

✔️Changed Plans Clear the Way for the Right Ones

🤎 Someone backs out and a family arrives days later who has been praying for that exact puppy.

🤎 A buyer delays only to find that another litter holds their true match.

🤎 A hesitation reveals that a puppy needs a more specific lifestyle than originally thought.

These aren’t interruptions — they are alignments. So when someone changes direction, we don’t view it as loss.

We whisper to ourselves: “Thank you — you just made space for the one who was meant to come.”

✔️Why We Keep These Conversations Private

Buyers should never fear that:

● their finances
● their hesitation
● their change of heart

will become content fodder or a punchline on social media.

We do not publicly vent family matters because protecting people is as important as protecting puppies.

We want you to know that we are a safe space here even if you change your mind.  That emotional safety is a core pillar of our Companion-First philosophy.

✔️To Those Who Have Told Us ‘Not Yet’, ‘We Can’t Right Now’, and those who have even returned a puppy because the family wasn’t in alignment — Thank You.

🤎Thank you for being honest instead of forcing something that didn’t sit right.

🤎Thank you for thinking of the puppy’s future more than your immediate desire.

🤎Thank you for having the integrity to step back so someone else might step forward.

🤎Your decision — even as disappointing as it was in the moment — was an act of love.

🤎And we honor that.

✔️To the Family Who Is Meant to Come

🤎Your puppy is not behind schedule.

🤎They’re simply waiting for your timing to align.

One day, someone will look into their eyes
and know: “This is the one we were meant to have.”

Until then, we wait with peace.  We trust:

✅️the process
✅️the timing

We have faith in prayer — and we know you will be on your way when the moment has arrived.

We are not breeding dogs — we are gratefully stewarding destinies.

✔️Why Our Retainer Policy Reflects This Same Heart

https://godslittleaussies.com/retainer/

This is also why our retainer policy is structured the way it is — not to pressure families, but to give everyone space to thoughtfully evaluate their decision.

The first 48 hours remain refundable
because we understand sometimes a heart needs a moment to sit with the weight of the commitment.

That window is intentional.

It honors:

✨ responsible hesitation
✨ emotional clarity
✨ the puppy’s best interest
✨ and your peace of mind

After that period, the retainer becomes non-refundable while your puppy is held exclusively for you.

Every part of this process — even the paperwork — is designed to uphold the same principle:

🤎puppies deserve readiness
🤎families deserve time, and
🤎decisions deserve thoughtfulness

The Blessing of the Delay

Why sometimes the pause — or the change — is the protection.

In this world of instant everything — instant messages, instant reactions, instant decisions — it is easy to assume that delay is disappointment… that change of plans means failure… that waiting means something went wrong.

But in my time of raising puppies, I have learned something far more sacred:

🤎The right puppy never arrives late.

Sometimes, what looks like a stall or setback is actually a safeguard… the delay is the blessing.

✔️When a planned home changes, it doesn’t break the story — it redirects it.

●Families’ lives shift.
●Jobs move.
●Health journeys unfold.
●Expectations evolve.

And occasionally, the puppy someone thought they were ready for simply isn’t their match after all.

It would be easy to react with frustration or hurry — but here, we choose to see differently: If a home falls through, it means that wasn’t the puppy’s person.

🤎And that is a kindness, not a crisis.

We would never want a family to take a puppy because they feel obligated. We want them to take one because they feel called.

✔️Puppies aren’t products to be moved — they are souls to be placed.

Our Companion-First program is built on this truth:

❌️ Puppies don’t “need a home.”
✅️ Puppies deserve the right home.

So when plans shift, we don’t panic.
❌️We don’t push.
❌️We don’t rush the next person who asks.
✅️We pause.
✅️We pray.
✅️We observe.
Because the right match always comes —
and when it does, it makes sense of every delay that preceded it. So what looks like waiting is actually weaving.

Waiting may look unproductive to outsiders, but we have learned to see it as a time when the story is being rewritten in ways we cannot yet see.

❌️We don’t ask: “Why didn’t this work?”
✅️We ask: “What — or who — is being prepared for this puppy?”

Almost every time a placement is delayed,
the eventual family later says something like:
●“We weren’t ready until now,”
●“We didn’t even know we were looking,” or
●“We almost missed him — I’m so glad we didn’t.”
That is when you know the delay was divine.

Sometimes the wrong family falling away is the right family being given room to arrive.  I’ve seen it too many times to deny it.

🤎The home that backs out wasn’t a lost opportunity — it was a shielded one.

🤎The puppy wasn’t stuck — they were preserved.

🤎And the family who was quietly looking,
or praying, or waiting for the right time… they arrive with a deeper appreciation,
a slower heart, a stronger bond.

🤎They don’t “take home a puppy.” They receive a companion they believe was meant for them.

✔️So here, delays aren’t disasters — they are direction.

❌️We don’t rush to fill a gap.
❌️We don’t push to “move a puppy.”
✅️We honor the pause.
✅️We let the story breathe.
✅️We allow God, timing, and temperament to do their work.

Because the wrong match failing
creates the space for the right one to find their way home.  And that is the quiet miracle.

✔️To every family waiting: Trust the delay.

If you’re hoping, praying, or watching for “your” companion — the wait isn’t punishment… it is preparation.

The right puppy won’t pass you.
The wrong one won’t stick to you.

Delay is not denial — it is alignment.

And when the moment arrives, you will look back and say: “Now I understand why it didn’t happen sooner.”

🤎That is the blessing of the delay.

Our Little Tripod ~ Scooby ❤️

His name was Braveheart because he truly lived up to it. At just one pound, he went into surgery to have his front left leg amputated — and against all odds, this tiny fighter pulled through. We’ve adored this little shrimp ever since, and today he’s a lively, lovable 12 weeks and 4 pounds of joy.

I thought he’d be mine forever, but sometimes our plans aren’t “the” plan. Some dear friends of ours have a daughter who absolutely dotes on her tripod kitty — a pampered little princess — and now they want to love our Braveheart too. He’ll soon be their spoiled little prince. 💙

Letting go won’t be easy. My heart has been wrapped around him since the beginning. He goes everywhere with us, sleeps curled up beside us, nibbles my fingers, and makes me smile every single day. I’ll miss him so much… but every puppy deserves a little girl who will make their world revolve around them.

She named him Scooby, which couldn’t be more perfect. I’ve already picked out Scooby-Doo toys and a Scooby backpack to send along with his favorites — including his beloved LambChop. It’s a bittersweet goodbye, but the comfort is knowing we can visit him anytime our hearts need to.

Our little three-legged love, forever and always. ❤️

Truth Over TikTok Soundbites: A Heartmender Perspective on Genetics, Registries, and Protecting the Future

Here’s why genetics, registries, and careful research matter when choosing your puppy’s breeder.

When conversations about breeding hit social media, the loudest voices are often the ones speaking the most, but offering the least real understanding to the public.  A common example is the way some “debunker” accounts dismiss any breeding of a dog, Australian Shepherd in particular, that carries a gene as irresponsible. In reality, breeding a carrier to a non-carrier is a long-accepted and safe practice that produces healthy puppies while preserving valuable traits in a bloodline. If breeders eliminated every carrier from their programs, we would quickly bottleneck the gene pool, shrinking diversity and risking even more serious health issues down the road. Good breeding isn’t about tossing out every dog with a carrier status — it’s about managing genetics responsibly, with forethought and balance. Unfortunately, that nuance doesn’t fit neatly into the pass/fail style of questioning used by many of these “debunkers.”

Another area where misinformation spreads is in registry debates. Some critics speak against ASDR (American Stock Dog Registry) as if it were somehow “less legitimate,” but they overlook the fact that ASDR was recognized by AKC through the open stud book process for Miniature American Shepherds. This means the foundation of today’s AKC-recognized breed includes ASDR dogs. The reality is that registries have histories and purposes that don’t fit into simple good vs. bad boxes. What matters most is the integrity of the dogs behind the papers, the health testing, and the thoughtful placement of puppies — not which set of initials appears on the certificate.

Closing Reflection

At the end of the day, breeding isn’t about passing someone’s pop-quiz version of “ethics” on social media.  It’s about making thoughtful, transparent decisions that protect both the health of the dogs and the health of the breed’s future. That means respecting genetics instead of fearing them, honoring the true history of registries, and always keeping the wellbeing of families, puppies and parent dogs at the center.

It’s also worth noting that many of these “debunker” accounts can be a red flag themselves — not because raising questions is wrong, but because the information they share is often limited, slanted, and intended to stir doubt more than provide clarity.

While one may listen to these “debunkers”, it’s always wise to do one’s own research when choosing a breeder. Look for transparency, health practices, and consistency over soundbites and headlines. Here at God’s Little Aussies, we believe education is the antidote to misinformation — and the more truth we share, the stronger our Heartmender mission becomes.

Note:  This reflection is not meant to dismiss the importance of working-line breeders or the families that thrive with high-drive Aussies who pursue titles in their field. Those dogs carry forward a proud legacy that we would never seek to diminish.  This is a reflection for the modern family who desires the love and loyalty of the Aussie as a companion.

🤎 Do Aussies Need Working Titles to Remain True to Themselves? A Modern Perspective

There’s a growing conversation in the breeder world suggesting that a program cannot be considered “ethical” unless every parent Aussie carries a working title. On the surface, that sounds noble—titles do prove ability in specific tasks. But in practice, this rigid stance of ethical dismissal is outdated in our modern society, and it may even work against the very future of the breed it claims to protect.

✔️Society Has Changed—So Have Our Aussies’ Roles

In just a few generations, daily life has transformed. Once, families worked long hours outdoors with land to tend, animals to herd, and chores that kept dogs busy with true jobs. Today, most adults spend their time at desks, children sit in classrooms for long stretches, and recreation is often limited to evenings and weekends.

In this new world, families aren’t looking for a high-drive stock dog. They’re looking for a companion—a dog that thrives on loyalty and connection, a best friend for the couch, the truck seat, or a family walk. The Australian Shepherd’s real magic lies in being versatile enough to shine in both realms: a dog with plenty of energy for play, but also that natural “off switch” to relax at home.

But here’s the challenge: If all Aussies were bred only for intense working titles, they would carry more drive than the average family could enjoy. That level of energy can spill over into uneasy family dynamics—herding children too forcefully, becoming restless without constant activity, or showing frustration when their “job” isn’t clear. While that drive is valuable on a ranch, in a household it can create stress and even discourage families from welcoming an Aussie at all.

✔️Why Demanding Working Titles Hurts the Breed

To insist that every Aussie in breeding programs must have herding or working titles is to systematically push the breed out of the very role that has made it beloved today: the role of companion. It’s not only impractical for modern families, it works against the breed’s best interests. By narrowing the definition of “ethical” to only those with working titles, breeders are forced to select for higher and higher drive—dogs bred less for companionship and more for nonstop work.

That path risks creating Aussies that are less family-friendly and, in time, less accessible to the very homes that love them most. In reality, it doesn’t preserve the breed—it risks eroding its place in the modern family.

✔️The Best of Both Worlds

The Aussie is already the best of both worlds. They’re a herding breed with heart, intelligence, and drive. But they’re also a breed that bonds deeply, that can sprawl on the floor next to your kids, or nap on the porch while you sip sweet tea.

Companionship is not a “lesser purpose.” It’s the highest calling of the breed in our modern society. Families deserve dogs who can thrive as companions, not just as trial competitors.

✔️Who Is Truly Ethical?

So, let’s ask the harder question: Who is truly acting in the best interest of the breed?

The breeder who insists on herding titles even while society has less and less use for high-drive herding dogs?

Or the breeder who carefully raises and selects Aussies to remain versatile—active when needed, peaceful when wanted, and deeply bonded as loyal companions for families?

Ethics isn’t about clinging to the past or moving the goalposts to exclude. True ethics is about breeding Aussies that meet the real needs of families today, while still honoring their heritage.  In 2025, adaptability of the Aussie looks like loyalty, balance, and companionship.

Australian Shepherds: More Than Just Herding Dogs

Australian Shepherds are labeled as a working or herding breed. They were originally bred to move livestock with intelligence, stamina, and drive. But focusing only on that part of their history leaves out something just as important: the heart of the Aussie.

At their core, Aussies thrive on loyalty and connection. They are bred to work alongside people, which is why they so naturally become companions. With the right playtime and mental stimulation, most Aussies have a built-in off-switch. That means they are just as happy to curl up by your feet or on the couch as they are to run, play, and explore.

This balance is what makes them such an incredible family dog. Yes, they need adequate exercise and purposeful activities — but they don’t need to live on a farm or have herding titles to prove their value as a family companion. What they need most is you, where their value is shown every day — in the loyalty they offer, the comfort they share, and the joy they bring into a family’s life.

Yesterday was another hard one. I let our vet’s office know they could remove Jackson, Shasta, and Charlie Brown’s files. At home, I gathered their records and placed them in envelopes of their own. I can never bring myself to throw them away — instead, they go into a keepsake box. I know they’re gone, but holding those papers in my hand feels like the last earthly trace of them. Throwing them out would feel like erasing that.

So today, give your pets an extra hug. Hold on a little longer, and breathe in the gratitude of the moment.

Heart-Centered vs. Ethical: Why We Choose Different Language

The term “ethical breeder” is often used as a weapon in breeder politics. This self-appointed ‘ethical badge’ can turn into a tool for bullying, with the goalpost continually shifting as each breeder is dissected.

While some intentions are for good, the problem with the word ethical is that it shifts depending on who is speaking — and that can leave families confused or overwhelmed who are expected to know the difference and choose a breeder accordingly.

🤎 That’s why at God’s Little Aussies, we use the phrase Heart-Centered Breeder — because it speaks to our values of love, family, and integrity.

✔️What Heart-Centered Means to Us

Families first, not breeding rights — our focus is on companionship. Aussies may be a herding breed, but at their core they thrive on loyalty and connection. With the right playtime and stimulation, they also have a built-in off-switch that makes them just as happy to curl up as your best couch-potato buddy.

Transparency  — open communication about our program without competing, comparing, or tearing others down.

Puppies raised with love — natural tails-dewclaws intact, and intentional care from day one.

Lifetime commitment — our puppies always have a safe place to return, no matter what.

✔️Why It Matters

We want families to know that when they choose one of our puppies, they are not only getting a healthy, homegrown companion — they are also stepping into a philosophy. A way of doing things that protects puppies and honors families.

Being Heart-Centered means:
🤎 Grace and truth go hand in hand.
🤎 The puppy’s well-being always comes first.
🤎 Families can feel safe, supported, and understood.
🤎 We honor kindness over competition — supporting a community where breeders can learn, grow, and become better stewards along their breeding path.

God’s Little Aussies — A Heart-Centered Breeder. Where love, health, and integrity guide every choice we make.

In Loving Memory of Our Faithful Jackson a/k/a Jac-Jac

Today at 7:05 p.m., our hearts are heavy as we said goodbye to our sweet dachshund after 15 beautiful years of love and loyalty. Jackson has been our constant companion—on every car ride, in every season of life, always at our side.  Because it was Jackson’s favorite, we took his last car ride before he left us.

We knew his time was drawing near, but in his final moments he gave us one last gift. He waited for his dad. When my husband came home early when I called with the sadness and gathered him into his arms, only then did he peacefully let go. He knew he was safe. Jackson knew he was loved.

Three beloved seniors have left us all in a single week…Shasta, Charlie Brown and now Jackson…and the ache feels unbearable. But even through the tears, we are grateful—grateful for the years we were given, for the joy they brought into every single day.

We are so very thankful for the privilege of holding our Jak-Jak close as he took his last breath.

Run free now, sweet boy. The car rides are endless in heaven, and we will carry you in our hearts until we meet again. 💔🌈🐾

When the Truth Cuts: Grieving Charlie Kirk

I didn’t cry when my dad died. I didn’t cry when my sister died. I carried the pain, buried it deep, and let it resurface in waves when I was alone. That has always been my way.

But when I heard about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I wept.

And I’ve been asking myself and God, why? I didn’t know him personally. I never shook his hand, never shared a conversation. Yet the grief that washed over me felt as if I had lost a brother.

The answer, I believe, is this: I wasn’t just weeping for Charlie. I was weeping for us.

Charlie Kirk stood firmly on his foundation — God first, family second, country third. He spoke truth without contradiction, without apology, and without fear. His faith was not a costume or a performance; it was his root system. When challenged, he did not back down. When attacked, he didn’t spin. He stood.

And that kind of courage is rare.

So when the news came that he was taken from us, it felt like more than the loss of a man. It felt like the loss of a lighthouse — a steady flame in a world that grows darker by the day.

I think I cried because Charlie’s death was a sign. A sign of how dangerous truth has become. A sign of how far evil will go to silence voices that refuse to bow. A sign of what may lie ahead for all who will not compromise.

Maybe it feels like a warning of the terror to come. Maybe it feels like martyrdom — a righteous life cut down to intimidate the rest of us into silence. Maybe it feels like a message: “See what happens when you stand too boldly.”

But I also know this: God was not surprised. Charlie’s days were written before one of them came to be. And the very fact that his death shakes us so deeply is proof that his life mattered. His boldness mattered. His love for God, family, and country mattered.

The truth cuts. And Charlie lived by that truth, no matter the cost.

So maybe these tears are not just sorrow, but a commissioning — a call for us to pick up the torch he carried. To stand a little taller, to speak a little braver, to love without contradiction.

Because the world does not need fewer Charlies. It needs more.

From rescue mutts to Aussies and Doodles ~ love has always been at the heart of what we preserve.

My whole life has been spent with the Heinz 57 dogs. The ones dumped on our little country road that my dad always gave a home.  We had German Shepherds and Dachshunds too, but mostly the muttly crew spent their lives with us.

We followed in my dad’s footsteps and have taken in many mix breed dogs. (Why are cats not referred to as mutts when mixed…just a random thought while writing.)  Some are in their old age now and still sharing life with us and their new friends, the Aussies.

I say this because, all our “mutts” are old and healthy.  We have experienced no illness, no supposed genetic issues, no hip dysplasia in all these years with a pretty much guarantee that there was no past history of health testing.  But, as breeders, we’re chastised, demeaned, even verbally attacked for not completing every health test offered and…wait for it…to dare breed a Doodle.  Along with the no titling for ribbons and alculades to prove our dogs are worthy.  Even though that worth is being based on a fraction of the breed population and set by a controlled group who, through a closed registry, determined what the breed standard would look like.

Does this mean breeders shouldn’t health test?  In no way whatsoever does it mean that.  We will health test with the knowledge we have been given, we have researched and have first-hand experienced.  We will do this because we want, first, what is best for the life of our puppies.  And, second, to put the cards on the table in offering you a healthy puppy to share life with.

What I won’t do is impose my ideology onto other breeder programs. I am not extreme in any direction regarding testing.  I walk to my own beat of research and experience.  I will not demean, use greater than thou verbiage, and seek to harm anyone or their program.  I will help, if you desire, to give guidance in seeking out that program, whether that be us or another, that fits your desire in choosing a puppy.

I will warn though about breeders who say testing such as orthopedic soundness in general is a SCAM and irrelevant, mostly being spoken on OFAs, is most likely a deflection of their unwillingness to spend the time and dollars in doing so for their program.  It’s not about perfection, but diligence in doing what we can for our litter health, whether that’s evaluations or those who intimately know their lineage.

Also, if a breeder says ask the question of color testing and run if they don’t have it. What!?! sort of claim is that to tell puppy parents to run away from such breeder.  Testing color traits is a breeder’s tool in pairing their dogs…reducing mismarks, merle to merle, harlequin with the S Locus.  Foreign language, right.  If your breeder wants to share, fabulous, but it is not a red flag to not purchase because it has nothing to do with the overall health of the puppy you are buying.  Well, what if the puppy is a merle to merle breeding?  You will know by the excessive white on the head and/or throughout the body.  Bottomline, if you are purchasing that puppy and your breeder is not discussing the excessive white and how this puppy has no affects, you should re-evaluate your breeder choice, but color testing still remains a breeder’s tool and not a red flag to run if not provided.

There are lots of questions you can ask, but the ones at the top…

●proof of ownersip…registration and/or pedigrees provided should be in your breeder’s name

●genetic health testing, even if the litter results are being given by grandparentage, there will be a paper trail that should be provided

●any clinical testing…OFA’s being hips, elbows, patellas, eyes, heart, etc…Pennhip, or private veterinarian evaluations.  If the breeder doesn’t have any, feel free to ask why and know if the “why” is justifiable or just an excuse to not have done any of the mentioned.  There are long-time, established breeders who are old school and know their lines intimately who may not do these tests.  Just have the discussion with your chosen breeder to make an informed decision.

At the end of the day, dogs are pets…mutts and “purebreds.”  Pets who don’t care about money, titles, status, or breeder debates.  Pets who love without reason and don’t ask for anything in return…except YOU.

We will always do our best for our parents, puppies and you!  We welcome your questions.

✨ These thoughts also led me to write more about what we as breeders are really preserving — I’ll share that reflection soon.

In Loving Memory of Lara

We weren’t always close. There were years of distance between get-togethers, and a situation a few years ago — instigated by our mother — that caused rifts and silence.

But Lara had more grace and heart than most.
She approached me with love, hopefulness, and a spirit for reconciliation that I’ll never forget. We had lunches, talks, visits after that day — never looking back, only forward.

We didn’t talk every day, but when we did, it was always with care. She stopped by from time to time, sent photos, little “love you, sister” messages that meant more than she probably knew.

She had a way of bringing laughter into every room — a lightness, a joke, a clown’s heart. She loved boldly, even when she didn’t feel it returned. She never met a stranger. Even as a little girl, she welcomed the world with a smile and extended arms. And she was fiercely devoted to her children — unwavering in that love.

Lara faced more illness than one person should have to endure. But she took the bull by the horns, put one foot in front of the other, and kept loving and giving without burdening others with her pain.

If you want to know real strength… real endurance… real grace under fire — it’s defined under the name “Lara.”

I’m not one to share personal things here. But I’m writing today because she was a person who mattered — full of color, full of heart, and brave enough to say “I love you” in a world that doesn’t say it enough.

I don’t hug enough. Call enough. Share enough. Say “I love you” enough.  Lara did ~ and many, many will miss her light. ❤️

Rest now, sister.

The Quiet Heroes Along the Way

Not every part of this journey is easy. Some paths are meant to be carried quietly, and some burdens belong to us as the ones who bring these little lives into the world. I’ve chosen not to share every difficult moment publicly — not because they don’t exist, but because I want you to see the beauty, not the shadows.

But what I will share is the kindness that carries me through. Recently, two people touched my heart in ways I will never forget.

One is my vet, who looked me in my tearful eyes and reminded me that, together, we manage tough times, set protocols, and persevere.  The other is my sweet parent-to-be, who, when I shared a challenge we are facing, she said she has faith, she will be praying, and for me to get some rest and sleep.  I was so concerned with her heart, but her heart took time for me.

My vet reminded me of the resilience and strength that is within us to endure.  My parent reminded me that grace and compassion extended can carry us through the hardest days and lighten the heaviest loads… that while there will always be voices (mostly our own) that criticize, dismiss, or even try to harm, there are also those who lift us, encourage us, and help us put one foot in front of the other for another day.

For my vet and puppy parent, I am deeply grateful. For them, my heart is renewed.  I hold on to the beauty that comes when people choose compassion over judgment, encouragement over indifference, and faith over fear.

✨ I pray a blessing over you — that you experience the beauty in the hearts of others, and that their kindness helps you place one foot in front of the other on your journey. ✨

Ever notice when a breeder shares their keeper puppy from a litter…and then suddenly posts adult dogs ‘available due to downsizing’?

Let’s be honest…
They aren’t shrinking their program for space or time.  They’re making room for new dogs.

Call it what you will — but for the dog, the reality is the same:  they’re no longer part of the breeder’s plan.

You won’t hear this from us!  If we feel it is best for one of our Aussies to be placed, it will be in a loving forever home, not a breeding program to be passed around again and again.  We will be transparent. You will know our “why.”   We value heart and home for our puppies and adults.

Here, we raise lifelong companions — never placeholders in a breeding program.

A Quiet Mind, A Gentle Gift

This morning feels unusual. My mind is blank — not racing with yesterday’s memories or tomorrow’s tasks, not tangled in the whirlwind of thoughts that usually greet me as soon as my eyes open. Instead, there is a stillness… and I find it’s a welcome companion.

Most mornings, I awake with a flood of ideas — things I dreamed, things I need to do, things I can’t afford to forget. But today, I simply breathe. And in that space, I realize how rare and precious quiet moments are.

So with this pause in my own heart, I want to send a little blessing out to yours: may your day be touched with calm, warmed with joy, and beautifully marked with your own quiet, heart-healing moments.

Grace in the Face of Dishonesty

Some mornings, you wake up with a sudden clarity — the kind that makes you realize not every battle is yours to fight. Some people and situations are simply energy drainers, never meant to take up space in your life. You were never meant to understand or fix the unsightly actions of that person. And when that realization sinks in, it’s freeing — because you see that dishonesty doesn’t deserve your breath, and drama only thrives when given oxygen.

Whatever your challenge may be — a person, an event, a circumstance — remember that God sees it all and is already working on your behalf. For those who seek His cover, there is a grace and protection we may never fully recognize this side of Heaven… but it is there all the same.

Be who you are, every single day. Authenticity is a beautiful thing. Don’t let the hateful actions of others change your stride. You don’t need an outward apology or a correction of their wrong to walk in peace. You only need to remain steadfast in who you are — honest, intentional, and true to your calling. Keep walking your path with integrity because God has already gone before you and made the way ready.

Now go hug a puppy… it’s hard to carry bitterness when we’re holding joy. 🤎

I’m here to share puppies with you — but knowing the real me behind our “Heartmender” philosophy may offer a deeper understanding of why I do this work with such thought and belief.

At first glance, I might seem somewhat unapproachable. Focused. Determined. Project-driven. It shows in my posture, my expression, and how seriously I take the details. But just under the surface, I’m soft-hearted to a fault. When someone tells me their dog has passed — even a dog I’ve never met — I cry with them. I feel their loss.  I totally embrace talking with the elderly.  Their wisdom. Their stories. Their presence with seemingly nowhere else to be.  When someone gives me a glance and a smile, I become 100% approachable.   I’m suddenly removed from deep thought into the moment.

I’ve always been drawn to animals — especially horses, sheep, and, of course, dogs. Their presence is pure, honest, and steady. No masks. No manipulation. Just who they are. And that resonates with me because I’m someone who can sense the real behind the performance.  So my comfort is found on our little farm with my animals.

My admiration is for all that is pretty to my heart. I know ‘shabby chic’ may be cliché, but it fits me well. I’m drawn to whitewashed and old barn wood, delicate lace, anything fluffy and comfortable. I love farmhouses, wraparound porches for both sunsets and sunrises, the quiet beauty of nature, the company of all animals, and the grace of a weeping willow tree. Flowers, honeybees, bumblebees, blue jean jackets, oversized hoodies, and embroidery make me smile. I adore farms, white picket fences, birdhouses tucked into ivy — and have I mentioned porch swings?  I find everything is pretty in pink 🌸

Friends? I keep only a small handful close, but I truly enjoy everyone — especially those who hold animals dear to their heart. With the right person, I can curl up in harmony and talk for hours about life. I value relationships that are simple, without drama, where we can both just be ourselves… exactly as we arrived.

I overthink everything — before, during, and after. I question whether I said the right thing, did the right thing, whether it landed the way I meant it to. A friend once told me she never thinks twice about what I say because she knows my heart. That was healing for me… as I was overthinking it.

Because I care so deeply, I’ve sometimes been misunderstood as “controlling.” But in my world, caring means doing it right — the right way for the animals, the people, and the peace for the whole. If a gate’s opened, it should be closed. If a broom’s used, it should be put back. If someone pokes my animal… expect me to poke back, even a little harder. Some call it control — I call it stewardship.

And when it comes to raising puppies, I overthink that too — because I want to get it right. I ask questions, re-ask them, and push for knowledge. My vet is gracious with me, reminding me often that nothing about raising puppies is perfect. Still, I try. I carry the responsibility with both intensity and tenderness, because these little lives matter.

So yes, I overdo. I overthink. I over-care. It’s who I’ve always been — and always will be.    Like me, or not…I’ll come across it honestly, because authenticity matters to me.

I raise “Homegrown Heartmenders” because I believe puppies are more than pets. They are comforters. Companions. Gentle reminders of love, trust, and healing in fur-covered form. And I believe the world needs more of that kind of love.

I know the cards will never fall with the perfection I imagine. I dream, I fall short, and things don’t always go as planned. But I see and feel the needs placed in front of me. One glance, one smile, one wagging tail — and I’m reminded why I do this: to raise Heartmenders who turn a house into a home. And with God’s help, I will always show up and give my very best.

In closing… I absolutely adore a porch swing visit — even if we’re just sharing stories and sipping sweet tea from our own little corners of the world. I’m always up for a good chit-chat, so don’t be a stranger. Let’s live the dream daily, one pawprint at a time. 🤎

A Clean Heart Along the Hard Path

We all walk roads filled with unexpected turns, both beautiful and heartbreaking. Along the way, there will be people who misunderstand us, misrepresent us, or even intentionally harm us. And while the sting of conflict with strangers fades quickly, the pain from those we once called trusted friends tends to settle in deeper.

Relationships will test us. Some will stretch; others may break. But we don’t have to emerge bitter. Instead, may we emerge better, stronger, more diligent in our purpose—not hardened, but healed, and focused on that which is right.

It can be tempting to sit in that pain. To replay the words, rehash the betrayals, and let bitterness slowly take root. But God invites us to a different way. Psalm 51:10 is not just a verse to read in a quiet moment—it is a roadmap for spiritual freedom.

When the Sting Comes from a Friend or Family: Friendship is supposed to be safe, loyal, and mutual. So when it crumbles, it feels like the earth shifts under our feet. The grief is layered—part mourning, part confusion, part anger. These feelings are human, and God does not ask us to ignore them. He simply calls us not to stay there.

A Heart Postured Toward Renewal: “Create in me a clean heart, O God” is a prayer of surrender. It doesn’t deny the wound, but it acknowledges that healing doesn’t come from being right—it comes from being renewed.

As believers, our goal isn’t just to prove a point or get justice. Our goal is to stay aligned with the heart of God. And that means laying down the weight of resentment, even when it’s justified, and asking God to do the work of cleaning out what doesn’t belong.

Grudges vs. Grace: Grudges whisper, “They don’t deserve forgiveness.” Grace replies, “Neither did I, but God forgave me anyway.”

Living by grace doesn’t mean turning a blind eye to wrongdoing. It means refusing to let someone else’s choices pollute your own spirit. It means giving God space to work in them and in you.

Closing Thoughts: Every journey includes moments of conflict. Some will shape us, and some will shake us. But no matter how deep the cut, we have a God who is capable of creating beauty from our brokenness.

So today, may our hearts not grow cold with bitterness, but tender with grace. May we have the courage to pray:

“Create in me a clean heart, O God.  And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”  Psalm 51:10

Let your heart be softened and your spirit renewed through God’s grace, love and presence… one puppy cuddle at a time.

Not all mending begins with words. Sometimes, it begins with paws (pause), prayers, and presence.

🐾 What This Logo Means to Us: The Heart Behind God’s Little Aussies

There’s more than meets the eye in this simple little silhouette.

When we set out to design a logo for God’s Little Aussies, we didn’t just want a pretty picture—we wanted a symbol of everything we believe in. A porch swing. A puppy with a natural tail. A rope shaped into a heart. And the words that define our purpose:  Homegrown Heartmenders.

Each piece tells a story.

🤎 The Porch Swing

To us, a porch swing means home. It’s where stories are shared and hearts are nurtered. Where you sit a while with your thoughts, or welcome a friend to sit beside you. Our puppies are raised in this same kind of stillness—with hands-on care, warmth, and time. They’re not just dogs. They’re comfort, joy, and steady companionship in a fast-paced world.

🐶 The Puppy

The silhouette of the Australian Shepherd is intentional.

She’s natural, thoughtful, and looking upward—curious, loyal, and peaceful. Her tail is untouched, because we believe nature gave her everything she needs. No cropping, no cutting. Just as she is, and just as your next best friend should be.

💗 The Rope-Heart G

That whimsical “G” curling into a heart?
That’s no accident. It’s a nod to our purposeful love. From the first heartbeat in the womb to the day they leave our arms, each of our puppies is raised to leave a heartprint in your life. The rope represents strength and connection—the kind that can weather any storm.

🌸 The Florals

Daisies grow beneath the swing, just like love and laughter grow in a home that welcomes a dog. These blooms are soft reminders of the joy and resilience our Aussies bring—graceful, gentle, and loyal through all of life’s seasons.

🏡 Homegrown Heartmenders

That phrase isn’t a tagline. It’s a calling.

We raise our Australian Shepherd puppies from the heart—with integrity, intention, and love woven into every moment. They are more than pets. They’re soul-soothers, bedtime snugglers, healing companions, and keepers of your quiet moments.

So when you see our logo, know this:
You’re not just looking at a brand.
You’re looking at the legacy of a small Texas porch, the love of a family, and the belief that dogs change lives.

🤎Earth Angels in Fur: The Puppies Who Are Ready Right Now

At God’s Little Aussies, we raise more than just puppies—we raise future companions. Our fully vaccinated, leash-started, and gently trained Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are lovingly referred to as Earth Angels in Fur—Heartmenders who have stayed long enough to learn calm, begin training, and be ready for real life.

These are not tiny babies in need of constant care. They’re slightly older, wiser, and ready to jump into your family’s adventures right now.

No waiting. No uncertainty.
Just soulful companionship from day one.

🐾What Is an Earth Angel in Fur?

Some puppies bloom early. Others take their time.  And then there are the ones who linger just long enough to become something even more.

An Earth Angel in Fur is a puppy who has passed through babyhood into budding companionship. They’ve lived in the rhythm of our home. They’ve walked our yard. They’ve learned to pause, to listen, and to connect.

These pups are:
✔️ Fully vaccinated and vet-cleared
✔️ Leash-friendly and recall-started
✔️ Learning sit and social comfort
✔️ Gentle-natured and emotionally aware

They’re not waiting for their time to start.
They’re ready now.

🐾Why “A Little Older” Is Sometimes Just Right

The world often rushes toward the newest, the tiniest, the “just turned 8 weeks.”  But we’ve seen the treasure in waiting a little longer.

🤎These pups know how to walk beside you, not just chase you.
🤎They’ve begun to mirror your calm.
🤎They’re easier to integrate, and more grounded in daily life.

If you’ve been wanting a puppy, but worry about the early chaos—this is your answer.

🐾Your Ready-to-Go Companion

There’s no clock ticking.
There’s no urgent scramble.
Just a puppy whose heart is ready.

Adventure-ready.
Family-ready.
Heartmender-ready.

Healing the Hurt You Don’t Talk About: How Dogs Bring Quiet Comfort to the Soul

Discover how the quiet presence of a loyal dog can bring healing to emotional wounds we often carry in silence. At God’s Little Aussies, we raise Heartmenders—Australian Shepherds bred for companionship.

Not all healing comes through words. Sometimes, it arrives on four paws and a gentle heart. At God’s Little Aussies, we raise Homegrown Heartmenders—dogs meant to walk beside you in the quiet places, bringing peace to the parts of your story no one sees.

Whether it’s one of our Homegrown Heartmenders or another gentle soul, there’s something unspoken yet powerful about the comfort a dog brings. They don’t need you to explain — they just know. They sit beside the hurt you don’t have words for and offer the kind of presence that eases what medicine can’t.

🐾May you heal from all the things you don’t talk about. And may you always find that soft place to land… even if it has four paws.

Get the Dog: Why a Homegrown Heartmender May Be the Healing You Didn’t Know You Needed

Feeling worn down by life’s demands?
Pressed by the weight of expectations, drained by the rat race—
You give your all, yet bring home only a fraction of what you’ve poured out.
Ever wonder if waking up in the quiet countryside—surrounded by nature—might ease the burden?

I believe it does. But I also know it’s not feasible for everyone.
For many, that kind of peace feels like a distant dream.
Because the world demands more—more money, more hustle, more stuff.
And none of it truly fills the ache.

We may not be able to escape the system we’re living in…but we can come home to a piece of heaven on earth.

Eyes full of knowing.
Tail wagging with joy.
A heart that beats wildly, only for you.

When no one listens—they do.

When you’re hurting and long to be embraced—they lean in.

When you feel utterly alone—
they remind you, with every soulful glance: You are not.

I hear you. I see you. I choose you. I love you—just as you are.

They said, Don’t get the dog.
You don’t need a dog.

GET. THE. DOG. 🐾❤️🐾

Because sometimes, what we need isn’t more stuff, time away, vacations, other people. ~ It’s a heartbeat beside our own.

Looking for your own Heartmender?
We’d love to introduce you to the puppies we’re raising with intention, warmth, and soul.

Holding You in Our Hearts

Our hearts are heavy as we lift up prayers for the families in Texas who have endured unimaginable loss. The recent devastation has taken precious children, beloved family members, and dear friends far too soon.

To those grieving: we may not know your names, but we carry your sorrow.

To the hurting: may God’s comfort surround you like a shelter in the storm.

To the brokenhearted: we pray peace finds you in the quiet moments and that hope gently returns with time.

From our little corner of Texas, we send love, compassion, and continual prayers.  May you feel the arms of a nation wrapping around you.

A Prayer for the Families…

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with broken hearts, lifting up every soul affected by this tragedy. Wrap Your loving arms around the families who mourn. Give them strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Be near to the brokenhearted, and let Your peace that passes all understanding rest upon their homes. Send comfort in the form of kind words, quiet moments, and the unexplainable presence of Your grace. May beauty rise from these ashes in Your perfect time.
Amen.

Reflections of Friendship: How a Simple Mirror Captured the Heart of Our Aussies

How My Australian Shepherds Reacted to Their Reflection: A Heartwarming Surprise

The other morning, I carried a mirror outside to rinse it off. Nothing out of the ordinary—just part of a routine day. But as I set it down, something unexpected happened.

Rainey and Arielle—two of our sweet Aussies—noticed their reflections. Ears perked, tails swaying, they approached slowly, curiously. No barking, no fear. Just fascination.

So I left the mirror where it was.

And now? Every morning, like clockwork, they stop to greet the “pup” in the mirror. Rainey wags gently as if saying hello to a familiar friend. Arielle, ever the thinker, looks behind the glass—searching for the dog she’s convinced is hiding just out of reach.

It’s a small moment, but it speaks volumes.

Dogs have this way of approaching the world—with open hearts and gentle curiosity. They don’t demand answers. They don’t judge what they don’t understand. They simply accept.

Watching them greet their mirrored friend each morning reminds me of how much we can learn from these four-legged companions: to lead with kindness, to approach the unfamiliar without fear, and to find joy in the simple things.

Sometimes, even a mirror can reflect more than just a face—it can reflect the beauty of a soul ready to connect.

A Guardian of Beginnings – Raising Puppies with Purpose

Discover what it means to be a true guardian of beginnings—where each puppy is raised with love, prayer, and purpose at God’s Little Aussies.

There’s a sacred kind of work that happens behind the scenes, long before a puppy ever meets their forever family.

It’s choosing the right pairing, planning the right timeline, waiting for that one perfect heartbeat to begin.

It’s the being there for your momma dog, praying over her, caressing her, and hoping all goes well for each arrival.

It’s the late-night check-ins with prayers whispered over tiny, sleeping bodies.

They call it breeding. But for me—it’s something more…It’s being a guardian of beginnings.

I’m not just raising puppies. I’m shaping first memories.

First snuggles.
First tail wags.
First little licks that make a child giggle or bring healing to someone who didn’t even know they needed it.

These puppies begin their lives in my hands—but they will end up in yours. And that transition is something I take very seriously.

I’m not perfect. No breeder is.  Sometimes, there are tummy troubles or itchy ears.
Sometimes life shows up messy, even after all the planning.  But I promise you this:

I raise each puppy with love.
With intention.
With transparency and truth and a whole lot of Jesus.
I’ll walk with you through the joyful moments and the wobbly ones.
Because I’m not just handing you a puppy—I’m entrusting you with a piece of my heart.

As perfect as I want each of our experiences to be—even with the greatest care, nature occasionally reminds us that puppies are living, breathing miracles, not sterile creations. Despite careful fecal screenings, thoughtful deworming routines, and trusted veterinary oversight, the stresses of new surroundings, travel, or a simple shift in diet can stir up what lies dormant. A soft stool. A touch of gurgly belly. Even the occasional uninvited guest like roundworms or giardia. It’s not failure—it’s just the reality of raising life. And we meet it not with fear but with compassion, knowledge, and grace.

So if you’ve ever wondered why I send so many notes home, or why I care so much about decompression time and MDR1 and parvo prevention and knowing that you and I are that perfect fit as well for the well-being of your puppy…It’s because I was called to be their faithful guardian of beginnings.

With love and gratitude,
Gina

“He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those who are with young.”—Isaiah 40:11 (NKJV)

Why an Aussie’s Favorite Place Will Always Be by Your Side

On a Cold Winter Day, Arielle Reminded Me What Makes This Breed So Special…

The wind was sharp that day, the air crisp with winter’s breath. I sat to rest, and Arielle found her warmth not in the sun—but in my presence.

❤️Because for an Aussie, the heart’s favorite place is always beside their person.

🏡 Preparing Your Home for an Aussie Puppy: A Gentle Guide to Welcoming Your New Companion

There’s something unforgettable about the moment your Australian Shepherd or Aussiedoodle puppy steps into your home for the first time—eyes wide, tail wagging, heart full of possibility. At God’s Little Aussies, we believe this joyful moment deserves preparation, patience, and a touch of southern charm.

Whether this is your first puppy or you’re adding to a growing fur-family, here’s how to create a space that’s not only safe—but full of comfort and love for your newest family member.

🐾1. Designate Their Safe Space

Your Aussie puppy is leaving the only home they’ve ever known. A thoughtfully prepared space will help them transition peacefully.

What to include:

A cozy crate or pen (think: a den, not confinement)

Soft bedding with a familiar scent (we send one home with each pup!)

Toys that encourage gentle play and comfort chewing

A quiet location away from heavy foot traffic or loud noises

💡 Pro Tip: Place their safe space in a corner of your home where they can still see you, but feel protected.

🐾2. Stock Up on Quality Essentials

Aussies thrive when given high-quality nutrition, proper stimulation, and the right gear from day one.

Checklist:

Stainless steel food and water bowls (easy to sanitize)

Quality puppy food (ask us what your puppy is eating!)

Adjustable collar, ID tag, and 4-6 ft leash

Puppy-safe chew toys and teething aids

Enzyme cleaner for accidents

🐾3. Puppy-Proof Like a Pro

Australian Shepherds are incredibly smart and curious—two traits that make for quick learners and, occasionally, mischievous explorers.

Safeguard your space by:

Securing electrical cords and power strips

Storing cleaners and medications out of reach

Removing rugs or décor that could be chewed

Using baby gates to limit access at first

🌼 Remember: They don’t need the whole house at once—start small and expand as they mature and earn trust.

🐾4. Prepare for a Routine

Routine is key to building confidence and calm in your Aussie puppy. Before they come home, think about:

Potty break times (set a phone reminder!)

Feeding and crate schedules

Gentle socialization opportunities (after vaccination series is complete)

Your family’s daily rhythm—where the puppy fits in

🐾5. Family Agreement & Ground Rules

Aussies thrive in families where everyone is on the same page. Discuss ahead of time:

Who is feeding and walking the puppy?

What are the rules for furniture, crate, and bedtime?

How will corrections and commands be handled (positive training is best!)

Having consistency creates a calm, well-mannered companion for life.

💕 From Our Home to Yours

Welcoming a puppy isn’t just about preparation—it’s about creating a space of love, peace, and belonging. Your Aussie isn’t just a pet; they’re a lifelong friend, a child’s confidant, a guardian of hearts.

At God’s Little Aussies, we’re honored to walk alongside you as you bring home one of our beloved pups. If you have any questions or would like to see our suggested shopping list, just reach out—we’re here for you, every pawstep of the way.

The Underestimated Beauty of the Black Tri Aussie: Why Substance Outshines Sparkle

Why Choose a Black Tri Australian Shepherd – God’s Little Aussies, Ennis Texas

Discover why black tri Aussies are the heart of the breed. Loyal, intelligent, and soulful—these overlooked gems are waiting to shine.

The Underestimated Beauty of the Black Tri Aussie…More Than Just a Pretty Coat

Don’t get us wrong—our merles are breathtaking. But color alone doesn’t raise your children, and there are not as many availableto choose from normally. Color doesn’t sense when you’ve had a hard day. And color doesn’t make a pup the kind of steady soul that grows into a lifelong best friend.

Temperament does.
Heart does.
And that’s where the black tri shines.

What Makes a Black Tri Special?

Black tri Aussies tend to carry an incredible balance of warmth, intelligence, and intuition. They often develop strong loyalty bonds and are emotionally in tune with their families. They’re:

Easy to train due to their attentiveness

Emotionally steady and less reactive

Perfect for therapy, ESA roles, or quiet companionship

Protective without being overbearing

Soft-eyed sweethearts with timeless beauty

Their rich coat, often accented with copper points and gentle white markings, isn’t flashy—but it’s striking in its own classic, western charm. Think “velvet saddle with a golden trim.”

Not Everyone Will Notice Them. But the Right Ones Do.

The truth is, black tris are often overlooked simply because they don’t shout for attention. But the best companions rarely do.
They wait. They watch. And when someone looks past the surface, that’s when their magic is revealed.

We’ve had families return to us saying, “I didn’t know what I was missing. This black tri is everything.”

Our Black Tri Babies Are Waiting

If you’re looking for a dog that will truly see you—choose the one who’s been quietly waiting to be seen.

🐾Black Tri pups currently available
🐾Raised on our family property in Ennis, Texas
🐾Litter box trained, well-socialized, and ready to become someone’s whole world

Because sometimes the best love stories begin when you least expect it.

Why Temperament Matters More Than Color in Australian Shepherd Puppies | Ennis, TX

True companionship starts with heart. Discover why we prioritize temperament over appearance when raising Australian Shepherd puppies in Ennis, Texas.

At God’s Little Aussies, we’ve seen it time and again—people are drawn to striking coats, piercing blue eyes, and flashy markings. We understand the appeal, but we believe there’s something far more meaningful than appearance: temperament.

If you’re looking for a lifelong companion—one that’s intuitive, faithful, and steady—then we invite you to look beyond color. Because in the end, it’s not the coat that cuddles your children or senses your sadness. It’s the heart.

The Heart of the Australian Shepherd

Australian Shepherds are so much more than a pretty face. Behind every pair of eyes—whether brown or blue—is a soul that’s built for connection and loyalty.

Here’s what we love most about the Aussie temperament:

Velcro Loyalty – Aussies don’t just follow—they stay close.

Emotional Intelligence – They have a gift for sensing your emotions and energy.

Balanced Guardians – Protective without being aggressive, especially in family environments.

Eager to Please – Trainable, responsive, and motivated by connection.

Playful Purpose – Whether working or relaxing, they want to be involved.

What We Prioritize in Our Program

At God’s Little Aussies, our breeding program is guided by temperament-first decision-making. While coat and eye color may draw attention, we match parents based on the qualities that truly matter:

Emotional stability

Confidence without dominance

Sweet, social natures

High trainability and intelligence

Calmness and connection

We raise each puppy in our home with hands-on daily care, age-appropriate stimulation, and intentional early socialization. Our goal is a puppy that transitions smoothly into your life—and stays grounded in love.

More Than a Pretty Face

Yes, our puppies are beautiful. But more importantly, they are balanced, intelligent, and emotionally sound.
Trends come and go—but temperament lasts a lifetime.

We raise each litter with purpose, so they’re not just stunning—they’re ready to love and be loved.

🐾 Who’s the Right Fit for One of Our Aussies?

Our puppies thrive in homes that value heart and connection. You’re likely a great fit if you:

Are active and emotionally engaged

Provide structure, love, and intentional training

Want a companion, not just a pet

Are an empty nester or retiree seeking a devoted friend

Appreciate beauty—but prioritize character

Know that the pup who steals your heart may not have the markings you imagined—but they’ll have the temperament and spirit your soul was yearning for.

A Lasting Bond Begins Here

If you’re dreaming of a dog who will bring warmth to quiet mornings, joy to busy days, and devotion to every season of your life—you’re in the right place.

We lovingly raise each puppy so they can step into your life not just as a pet, but as your perfect fit.

Today, as the sun casts its gentle glow across our fields and the breeze carries the sweet scent of springtime, our hearts pause in quiet reverence. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or a gathering around the grill—it is a sacred moment to remember the men and women who gave their all in service to this country we call home.

Here at God’s Little Aussies, nestled in the heart of the land they died to protect, we are deeply grateful. Our freedom to raise these beautiful pups, to live simply and love fully, is a gift paid for with immense sacrifice.

We think often of the values we cherish—loyalty, devotion, courage. They’re the same traits we see in our Australian Shepherds: the fierce protectiveness, the gentle presence, the unwavering heart. It’s humbling to reflect on the parallel between a soldier’s bravery and the quiet, noble loyalty of a good dog.

So today, we honor them. We whisper a prayer of peace over their families. And we pledge to live lives of gratitude, making the most of every freedom we’re afforded.

From our family to yours, may your Memorial Day be touched with thankfulness, love, and the kind of peace that only sacrifice can bring.

With heartfelt remembrance,
Paul and Gina

Aussie Round-Up at the Morning Meeting – Ennis, Texas

Looks like the crew’s gathered to settle the day’s important matters:

• Which patch of dirt’s best for rollin’
• Who gets first dibs on the stick stash
• And makin’ sure the humans stay in line

Just another day on the farm with our wiggle butt council of heartmenders.

❤️ Australian Shepherds are the very best furbaby companions.  Thankful everyday sharing life with them!
