Our story doesn’t begin with puppies.

It begins with a quiet belief that every life entrusted to our care matters, and that every chapter of a puppy’s story deserves to be honored—from the day they’re born, to the day they become part of your family.

Here on our farmstead in Ennis, Texas, we thoughtfully raise Toy, Miniature, and Standard Australian Shepherds, along with carefully developed Aussiedoodles. While our programs may differ in size and breed, they are all guided by the same purpose: to raise companions of sound temperament, thoughtful structure, and hearts that thrive beside their people.

Every puppy is raised with daily care, gentle handling, intentional socialization, and the time to simply be a puppy. We believe matching a puppy with the right family is just as important as raising the puppy itself.

For us, this has never been about simply placing puppies.

It’s about honoring every chapter of their story—from our home to yours.

Our own dogs have filled our lives with laughter, comfort, faithful companionship, and countless quiet moments on the porch swing. It is our privilege to pass a little of that joy on to the families who welcome one of our puppies home.

Loyal, Intelligent, With Heart as Big as Texas

Sometimes the most meaningful things arrive unexpectedly.

The other day I was searching for a registered name for one of our girls. I asked ChatGPT for a few ideas, and one suggestion stopped me in my tracks:

God’s Little Grace Upon Grace.

It was beautiful.
Beautiful enough that I almost gave it to just one puppy.

Then I realized it was too meaningful to belong to only one.

The phrase “grace upon grace” comes from John 1:16:  “From His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”

I’ve thought about those words ever since.
Grace isn’t something we receive once. It isn’t a single moment or a single blessing. It’s God’s continual kindness—fresh for each new day.

Yesterday’s grace carried us through yesterday. Today’s grace is enough for today.

Tomorrow’s grace will be there before we even need it.

One blessing unfolding into another.

One season leading gently into the next.

That’s the kind of life I hope to live.

And as I reflected on it, I realized that’s also our heart behind God’s Little Aussies.

It’s why we keep our puppies a little longer, allowing them more time to mature before joining their families.

It’s why we begin foundation training instead of simply counting the days until they leave.
It’s why we believe every puppy has value, whether they’re eight weeks old or five months old.

It’s why we focus on temperament before trends and companionship before color.

I’ve always wanted this kennel to be about more than raising beautiful Australian Shepherds and Aussiedoodles.

I’ve wanted it to be a place where families experience kindness, honesty, and peace.

Where every puppy is treasured.

Where every family feels welcomed.

Where God’s goodness quietly shines through the little things.

Maybe that’s what Grace Upon Grace has been all along.

Not simply a registered name.

Not just a favorite verse.

But an umbrella over everything we hope to be.

Grace upon grace.

Continual love.

Continual favor.
